a new version of the RCO-tool is available for download in the partner portal.

For faster and more efficient work, the interface of the web editor has been revised. The functionality remains completely unchanged and previous projects can be opened and edited without any problems. During this revision, we have placed special emphasis on working on a laptop, in order to be able to display the drawing area in full screen as far as possible.

We also added an image storage in the form of a folder on the desktop for the Web Menu Editor. Images with the same name are used multiple times and are only stored once in the project. In the same way, images from the project-associated clipboard can be used.

In addition, the content of the “Help” button in the tool has been extended. There is now a direct link to the partner portal and the online manual.

Webeditor redesign

When redesigning the web editor, our focus was to maximize the drawing area and yet not to arrange the functions too close to each other. The control panels can also be hidden using the pins to see even more of the drawing area.

The panels from the left have now also been tabbed to the right to maximize the drawing area

The object list is now located on the right. It is used to set the object sequence, i.e. which object comes before which.

2 different sizes can now be selected for the grid.

By means of the pins, the control panels can be hidden.

Click on the tabs of the control panels to show them again.

Background images

There have also been some changes to the background images of the visualizations. We have revised and decisively improved the saving and accessing of images within a project.

But what does that mean for you? As soon as you open a project, the images contained in it are automatically stored in a separate images folder. This folder allows a variety of functions while working on the project. And as soon as you save and close the project, the images will be integrated back into the project file and you will have just one single e3gx project file as before.

In the module library there is a button to delete unused background images from the module library

In the folder of the project a folder with the name of the project_BackgroundImages is created. there the background images from the project are located as long as it is open.

If a program module is inserted into a project in which a menu with background images of the same name already exists, for example the HC module, you can decide what to do with the background images. Either use the existing ones.

It is also possible to rename the newly added background images

Or the already existing background images are overwritten.

Webeditor background images

Due to the possibility to use the background images several times, something has also changed in the handling within the web editor.

In the web editor, "Add Image" can be used to add a new image to the library and it will be set as the background image for the current page at the same time.

If the desired background image already exists in the library, for example from another page, the "Use existing image" button opens the library.

An already added background image can now be selected in the library.

Once the web visualization is finished, you can still delete the unused background images in the RCO Web settings. This will remove them from the project.

Suffix and online help

The suffix can be appended to the data points when creating variables to make data point creation even more flexible.

When creating variables automatically, it is now also possible to specify a suffix that is appended to the end of the data points.

Other improvements / bug fixes

Alarm indicator buffer changed from 10 to 100 by default.
A suffix has been added to the “Create variable” function.
Saving macro programs to the macro library is possible again.
Addition of RCO721D-M and RCO721D-W fixed.
