RCO-tool – 2.4.8.9000
A new version of the RCO-tool is available for download in the partner portal.
With the new version, we have changed the programme module library to a database basis, which brings significant performance improvements. And the new BACnet tool can now be used as a BACnet browser and lets you scan BACnet networks for devices. These and other improvements are explained in detail here.
We have summarised all the new features for you in pictures. If you click on the images, you can also view them in full screen
BACnet Tool/Browser
The new revised BACnet tool can be opened via “Display” -> “Display BACnet tool”.
The BACnet tool can be used to import EDE files and also as a BACnet browser. With the help of the BACnet browser, a network can be searched for BACnet devices by clicking on the magnifying glass.
As identical BACnet devices such as room controllers usually have the same data point names, the “Create new BACnet point names” function allows you to customize the data point names of each device. A customisable prefix “BAC.address_” and also customisable suffix “_Type_BACnet Instance” are automatically entered.
This function offers considerable advantages for both EDE file import and scanning. Data point names that are not accepted in the RCO tool are highlighted in yellow and data point names can generally be changed very easily.
The BACnet devices can be added to the respective controller or all controllers with a right-click. This also works using drag and drop.
Program module library now based on new database
The program module library is now based on a database, which significantly optimizes memory consumption. There are now almost no limits to the program module library.
IMPORTANT: The old program module library (.mrt) is imported as before, then the library and the RCO-tool must be closed. The next time the program module library is opened, it will be converted into the new database.
ATTENTION: The new database format (.mpl) is then no longer compatible with older RCO-tool versions. Program modules exported in RCO-tool version 2.4.8.9000 cannot be imported into previous RCO-tool versions.
Import of program modules
When importing program modules from .mpl/.mrt files or macro programs, program modules are checked for German and English data point names, images and module names. If one or more of these points are missing, they are now filled in automatically.
In addition, program modules with the same name are recognized and must be changed.
group names in the program module library
The group name can now be changed by double-clicking on a group in the program module library.
groupview of the program module library
There is now a checkbox in the RCO-tool settings that can be used to change the view of the groups in the program module library. Compared to the previous view, in which you had to navigate through the groups using the arrows, the new view always shows all groups. If the library window is too small to display all groups, they are displayed in several rows, with the currently selected group always displayed at the bottom.
Scan in the datapoint list
The data point list now offers the option of scanning data points.
The scan window is opened in the data point list by clicking on the “binoculars”. There you can use the search function to optimize the scan so that only the desired data points are displayed. Values can be written and the checkboxes can be used to select which data points are to be scanned. The checkbox can be used to switch between the data points to be scanned when the scan is active.
